The Mix Tape is a lost art. With the advent of playlist generators like iTunes Genius and apps like Pandora the need for taking hours and days to put together the right songs in the exact right order to really capture a mood, thought, or just to get a party started has gone the way of doing laundry in the local stream or having to get off the couch to change the channel. Why? Because like washing machines and TV remotes, having a playlist made for you is just easier.
However, there are many of us who still take the time to pull together a few tunes that, no matter if they were just released or they are old standards, convey a sense of, well, anything. That's the beauty of it, even if I'm unable to make quality music myself, I can make a decent mixtape, and feel like I'm a part of it. I put these up for you to take look at, learn about a new band, or even branch out into genres you're unfamiliar with.
One thing I do ask, is that if you do put these mixes together BUY THE MUSIC! I know there are tons of ways to pirate and get free music out there, but I prefer that the artists get paid so they can afford to keep making music. Check 'em out and let me know what you think...
